Problems mixing in the manufacture of animal feed

Livestock breeders. From own observations and practices of reputable partners.
A few words about such a problem in feed production, as the uniformity of the feed mixture. In the manufacture of animal feed, under the uniformity of the feed mixture, it is commonly understood that the conditional weight unit of feed contains all its components, according to the proportions specified in the recipe. Calculated as a percentage.

It turns out that a uniform feed mixture is not so easy to get. If there is no uniformity, it means that your animals will not receive the full set of vitamins that you feed them, this leads to uneven development, and diseases in the herd. And even the most expensive and eminent equipment often does not help, I'm not saying that sometimes farms are used for this (stuffers, mixers, concrete mixers, etc.). It is worth noting that sometimes professional mixers are mixed feed, they are just very big stuffers. Add to this the “dead zones”, which are not subject to kneading at all, although the manufacturers declare high mixing rates at the level of 90% uniformity. We investigated the compound feed obtained on professional equipment, vertical (V-shaped mixer) and horizontal (cylindrical mixer) type of mixing, i.e. the components are kneaded by a vertical and horizontal mixer. In the case of a vertical mixer, the uniformity of the mixture was at the level of 55% maximum (due to the huge “dead zone” in its lower part), with the horizontal - 65% maximum (due to the gaps between the mixer housing and mixer blades, also a “dead zone”). Declared by the manufacturer 85 and 95% respectively.

What other factors interfere with getting a uniform mixture, even if you eliminate all the errors of the equipment. This is of course its heterogeneity, all components have different specific gravity, density, etc. When kneading, they begin to behave, approximately as water with impurities, all that is heavier-down, easier-up. And the longer they mix, the result will be deplorable. The only correct solution is continuous, continuous mixing in the process of preparing food. Just this type of equipment uses TM “Grassland”, on which we produce feed mixtures with a uniformity of 98-99%. All processes are controlled and controlled by the computer, each component gets into the mixture at a strictly defined time and in the exact amount. Accordingly, when feeding such a mixture, all the vitamins and amino acids will get to all its consumers. Try for your animals, you will not regret.
